About
Like many curlers, I was introduced to the sport by my father at the age of 7 when we moved to Guelph and he began volunteering his time at the curling club helping with the Little Rocks program.
Perhaps more than he bargained for, I took to the sport like the son of a Canadian farmer, and soon he was committing his weekends every winter to coaching and driving me and my teammates all over Southwestern Ontario.
I had some success in the competitive curling days of my youth, but once again like many curlers, failed to turn my love of the sport into a profession.
Fast forward to 2020 where the pandemic posed a host of challenges to everyone, including curling clubs. Meeting a demand for volunteer ice technicians, it was here that my desire to make a career out of this sport was rekindled.
Since then I have committed my time and energy into gaining as much knowledge and experience possible, completing three levels of certification in as many years, and serving on CurlON and Curling Canada ice crews at the 2023 & 2024 Ontario Scotties & Tankard as well as the 2024 U18 Nationals!
Most recently I am thrilled to have secured my first club ice maintenance contract with the wonderful and welcoming members of the City View Curling Club here in the National Capital Region.
